Almost Tetris

While learning the programming language Processing today, I built a quick little "Almost-tetris" game. The blocks follow your cursor, and you can click to rotate the blocks to play!

Pirate locations, given the current global average temperature

As you may know, according to FSM's open letter to the Kansas School Board, "global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s." The letter then goes on to show a graph displaying "the approximate number of pirates versus the average global temperature over the last 200 years," showing "there is a statistically significant inverse relationship between pirates and global temperature."

As a continuation of this idea, I put forth the set of Approximate Pirate Locations, Given Current Temperature Anomalies:

This map was created by combining the most recent NOAA maps detecting ocean temperature anomalies and Google Maps. The regions that house pirates on this map are the regions on the NOAA map that were most significantly colder (at least -4.5 degrees C) than average.
